08.08.06 Catholic Community Services to offer training for trauma counseling This is your official call for registrations to the TOP Training--trauma prevention counseling. The training will be 8am to 5pm on Wednesday, Thursday, & Friday, August 23-25, 2006. There is no charge to you. We are pleased to welcome the return visit of the trauma counselors from the Foundation for Human Enrichment. These services are funded for the Louisiana Catholic Charities agencies by CCUSA. These counselors/trainers have global experience in helping people who have experience catastrophically stressful events. Their goal is to educate people to recognize their biological responses to stress & to prevent the stress from having traumatic consequences. You or your colleagues are invited to participate in an intensive training process to build organizational capacity for future PTSD-prevention training. This will primarily appeal to licensed counselors but others may participate. Social Work CEUs are offered. If you wish to participate, please commit to the entire 3 day experience. In addition, if you have not already done this, you will want to schedule 2 one-hour individual sessions on the Monday and/or Tuesday. Your flexibility in this is extremely helpful. The schedule of the preliminary individual sessions will not be set until the 18th or so. This is an important preparation to the training. Brenda Durham & her staff will coordinate the registration & scheduling. Please communicate with her by email (bdurham@ccsbr.org). I am also available to answer questions. I truly hope you can take advantage of this opportunity. Space will be limited so register asap! Please see this link for more info: http://www.traumahealing.com/ |

04.12.06 Free Health Care Conference/A New Vision for Health Care Jointly Sponsored by The Louisiana Health Care Alliance, Louisiana Business Group on Health and the Louisiana Health Care Commission
Louisiana Department of Insurance, Poydras Building, Hearing Room
Experimentation in health care financing and delivery is at an all time high as employers and government struggle with double-digit premium increases, rapidly growing numbers of uninsured and the declining health status of the population. Business coalitions, health plans, governmental agencies, health systems and many others are all looking for the answer in benefit design, reimbursement methodology, disease management or prevention and health promotion. -- an answer we hope will "turn the tide" before state and federal budgets as well as private sector employers are literally swamped by out-of-control costs. |
