2nd annual Doughnuts for Dad Celebration
On October 15, 2009, Family Road’s Dedicated Dads Program and Labelle Air Head Start achieved an important milestone by celebrating our 2nd annual Doughnuts for Dad day celebration. There were over 40 active Fathers participating on this day. The Dedicated Dads Program was invited to enlighten the Fathers on critical issues concerning our community. We choose male and female relationships and how fathers should be included in the parenting process as the topic. During the session, the staff of Dedicated Dads discussed some of the problem issues with communication with their significant others which included: Selective hearing which we are all guilty of, Understanding what men want and what women need, and Understanding views of Love. After the session, the fathers and mothers were so extremely thankful for the dialogue that they continued asking questions and thanking us for taking out the time to share our thoughts of Fatherhood.
