Louisiana Covering Kids and Families

Family Road is one of eleven local coalitions around the state who has partnered with the Department of Health and Hospitals to ensure that Louisiana’s kids and their families have a healthy future.  The parishes that are served by this program include East and West Baton Rouge, East and West Feliciana, Pointe Coupee and Iberville.  LaCHIP outreach is the most valuable tool used to connect families who are in need of healthcare.

Goals of Louisiana Covering Kids and Families :
• Ensure all eligible children and adults are enrolled in LaCHIP or Medicaid
• Educate families and communities about health issues through collaborative partnerships
• Increase the number of families who have access to health care

Coalition membership is open to any individual or organization interested in promoting health coverage or access to primary and preventive health care for children and families, and who completes a membership form. Active members may represent state and local governments, non-profit organizations, private-for-profits, health care providers, parents, consumers, and members of local coalitions. The coalition periodically evaluates membership, levels of involvement, and representation, with an eye to bringing all interested parties to the table to promote health coverage for children and adults.
